Delhi government is going to launch a new Saheli Samanvay Kendra Scheme 2021 to setup Anganwadi hubs across the state. The main objective of Delhi Saheli Samanvay Kendra Yojana is to empower women and to give them a larger role in the economy. The women empowerment would be achieved through establishment of 500 anganwadi hubs in various parts of the city. Delhi Saheli Samanvay Kendra Scheme 2021
On 8th March 2021, the state govt. of Delhi has announced to start Saheli Samanvay Kendra Scheme. In this scheme, 500 anganwadi hubs will be set up for incubating individual start-ups and to promote self-help groups. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has made this announcement while presenting budget for the financial year 2021-22. Dy CM has also set aside Rs. 4,750 crore for the Department of Social Welfare, women and Child Development and welfare of SC/ST/OBC.
Samriddhi Initiative – Training to Women in Saheli Samanvay Kendras
Delhi govt. will make special arrangements in the anganwadi hubs for required training to women. This training would be provided in order to enable women to open micro-economic units and for holding meetings of self-help groups. Anganwadi Hubs shall be used by women of nearby areas for 4 hours everyday morning. The decision to formulate Saheli Samanvay Kendra Scheme was taken on the basis of a survey which was conducted by the state government earlier. This survey was conducted to understand the impact of COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent lockdown on the livelihood of people in Delhi.
The survey reports showed that before the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment among women was 26% in February last year and it rose to 40% in February 2021. Data of the survey reveals that among the women of Delhi, who are available for employment, 40% are unable to find any work. Around 45% per cent of these women have completed class 12 and 60% of these women are less than 30 years of age.
Suryoday Scheme Delhi
To tackle substance abuse, Rs. 7.2 crore allocated under Suryoday Scheme in Delhi. Highlighting other women-centric schemes launched by Delhi government earlier, Dy CM mentioned that 33 self-help units will be set up to make women more aware of such initiatives so that they can avail the benefits.
Baba Saheb Pragatisheel Vishwakarma Shilpkar Gram Yojna
Baba Saheb Pragatisheel Vishwakarma Shilpkar Gram Yojana proposed to promote artisans from SC / OBC / Minority communities and those with disabilities to showcase their products on the lines of Delhi Haat. Delhi Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation Ltd to construct Shilpi Haat exclusively for these artisans and shops to be allotted to them for 5 years on monthly lease basis.
Sugamya Sahayak Scheme Delhi
Sugamya Sahayak Scheme has been introduced in Delhi to facilitate mobility of persons with benchmark disabilities by providing them support in the form of aids and appliances. The govt. has also proposed for setting up of a rehabilitation institute for persons with disabilities.
