Tamilnadu Amma Mini Clinic Scheme 2021 – 2,000 Mini-clinics to Strengthen Health Infrastructure

TN Amma Mini Clinic Scheme 2021 has been launched by the Tamil Nadu government. In this scheme, around 2,000 mini clinics would be setup in the state to strengthen health infrastructure. Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on 14 December 2020 has launched this Mini-Clinic project to further strengthen health infrastructure. Tamil Nadu Amma Mini Clinic Scheme 2021

As of now, there are around 1,851 primary healthcare centres which are currently functional in the Tamil Nadu state. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has now launched Amma Mini Clinics Scheme 2021 in Chennai. The main aim is to operate hospital in areas which has population of less than 30,000 people.

Tamilnadu Amma Mini Clinic Scheme 1st Phase

In the first phase of Tamil Nadu Amma Mini Clinic Scheme, CM Palaniswami inaugurated mini-clinics at Royapuram, Vyasarpadi, and Mylapore in Chennai. In Tamilnadu, mini clinics are being set up at 200 places in Chennai while 2000 mini-clinics will be put up across the entire state.

Timings of TN Amma Mini Clinics

The timings for which the TN Amma Mini Clinics would remain functional are as follows:-

• 8 a.m to 12 noon (Morning)
• 4 p.m to 8 p.m (Evening)

Features of Amma Mini Clinic Scheme

Each mini-clinic in the TN Amma Mini Clinic Scheme 2021 will have a doctor, nurse, and medical staff. These mini-clinics will be equipped with facilities to check the temperature, oxygen level, blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, blood sugar level and to conduct hemoglobin and urine tests.

Chief Minister EPS during the inauguration of Amma Mini Clinics in Chennai mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had praised Tamil Nadu for its excellent performance in controlling the corona in the state. CM said “This is a historic achievement. The government of Tamil Nadu is implementing Amma Mini Clinic project with the intention of creating a disease free life for the people of TN state.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has lauded Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami’s initiative to set up a mini-clinic. Many experts have said that Tamil Nadu Amma Mini Clinic Scheme 2021 is a gamechanger in the fight against coronavirus.
