Gujarat government is going to launch an ambitious healthcare scheme namely Niramay Gujarat Yojana soon. In this health check-up scheme, the state govt. will screen people for detection of ailments. All the people above 30 years of age in the state will be screened for various diseased like diabetes, cancer. More than three crore citizens older than 30, who make up over 40% of the population, will be covered under health checkup scheme. They will be checked for all major non-communicable diseases.
Diseases and medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, paralysis, cancer, kidney trouble and diabetes are common among people and an attempt will be made to diagnose these as early as possible through the health check-up scheme. Check-ups will be done at all primary health centres (PHC), community health centres (CHC) and government hospitals every Friday. What is Niramay Gujarat Yojana 2021
The scheme named Niramay Gujarat Yojana will be launched by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on 12 November 2021. Gujarat CM will launch this healthcare scheme from Palanpur town in the Banaskantha district. This information is given by the spokesperson of Gujarat government and Education Minister Jitu Vaghani after attending the cabinet meeting in Gandhinagar on 10 November 2021.
Dignitaries, including ministers, MLAs and MPs, will remain present in the district level events across Gujarat on 12 November 2021 when the govt. will formally roll out this scheme.
Need for Niramay Gujarat Healthcare Scheme
Non-communicable diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack and cancer are claiming more lives than deaths due to communicable diseases. Thus, the state government has decided to conduct health check-ups for everyone above the age of 30 under Niramay Gujarat Yojana. Around 3 crore citizens will be covered under this health checkup scheme.
Niramay Gujarat Card
People under the age of 30 will be screened at government healthcare centres and hospitals free every Friday. A new Niramay Gujarat Card containing findings and health status will be given to the beneficiaries. Such comprehensive health check-up costs around Rs. 12,000 in private facilities. Every family will save between Rs 10,000 and 12,000 every year on medical expenses.
Another major cabinet decision is that the state Labour and Employment department will now be known as Labour, Skills and Employment department and a notification in this regard will be issued soon.
