AP YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme 2021 – Zero Interest Crop Loan Scheme for Farmers

AP YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme 2021 has been launched by the Andhra Pradesh government. In this zero interest crop loan scheme, govt. will provide interest subsidy on loans for crops. This scheme is one of the part of the earlier launched YSR Sunna Vaddi Pathakam Scheme for women SHGs. In that particular scheme, the AP govt. had reimbursed the interest paid by SHGs on outstanding Bank loan up to Rs. 3 Lakhs. This initiative reinforced the confidence of the women to take up another productive activity for their socio-economic development. In this article, we will tell you about the complete details of the YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme.

AP YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme 2021

On 26 October 2021, Rs. 112.7 crore have been provided to 6.67 lakh beneficiaries under Jagananna Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme. Objective of AP YSR Zero Interest Crop Loan Scheme is to provide timely loans at no interest to the farmers for investing in crops and ensuring that they are not forced to depend on private money lenders. If the dues (Rs. 1,180 crore) kept pending by the previous government and cleared by the present government are taken into consideration, besides Rs. 382 crore provided under zero interest crop loan scheme and Rs 112.7 crore provided on 26 Oct 2021, 64.96 lakh farmers have benefited with Rs 1,674 crore under the scheme.

On 20 April 2021, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had released Rs. 128.47 crore interest subsidy for Rabi season loans across the entire state under interest-free crop loan scheme. In the previous phase of AP YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme, 6,27,906 farmers were benefited but now this number has been increased to 6.67 lakh. The state govt. has also released interest subsidy to farmers under Zero Interest Crop Loan Scheme. The AP government has provided subsidy to farmers who have taken crop loans upto Rs. 1 lakh during the previous season and repaid within a year.

What is AP YSR Zero Interest Crop Loan Scheme for Farmers

YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme is a zero interest crop loan scheme for farmers. In this scheme, the state govt. reimburses all the outstanding crop loans of those farmers who repay it on time. Accordingly, the AP state govt. has now released interest subsidy for crop loans taken during the previous season.

CM’s Announcement for Welfare of Farmers

It was decided to apply the zero interest crop loan scheme only to the farmers who were initially registered in the e-crop. However, only 2,50,550 farmers were registered in the e-crop. Of all the remaining farmers, CM Jagan now generously applied the scheme to all those whom the bankers find eligible and pays interest subsidy.

YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme to Benefit Farmers

In the previously launched YSR Rythu Bharosa, around 50 lakh farmer families have benefited. CM Jagan mentioned that as against the promised Rs 12,500 per year for four years under the scheme in the manifesto, AP government is paying Rs. 13,500 per year to the farmers for five years and already the scheme is implemented twice.

CM YS Jagan even criticized the previous TDP government as farmers were neglected by the previous regime. TDP govt. not only failed in implementing farm loan waiver scheme but also failed to pay the interest subsidy for the interest-free loans. CM mentioned that “Believing that their farm loans would be waived, several farmers failed to repay their loans and with that government failing to keep its promise, the farmers suffered.” But now the state govt. has launched YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme for the welfare of farmers.

Farm Loan Interest Subsidy Dues Cleared

For the welfare of farmers in Andhra Pradesh, farm loan interest subsidy dues of the previous government amounting to Rs. 1,180.66 crore were cleared by AP government. The state govt. was paying input subsidy for the crop loss in the same season. CM YS Jagan said that 60 per cent of the state’s population is dependent on agriculture. He said the welfare of farmers and farm labourers was the government’s objective.

He said the arrears left by the previous government had also paid. ‘We are providing quality electricity to farmers free of cost,’ Jagan added. CM YS Jagan said another tranche of Rythu Bharosa scheme would be provided next month. It is a known fact that the zero interest crop loan scheme is applicable to all farmers who take crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh and repay the loan within a year. CM assured that no eligible farmer will be left out of any scheme benefits. Farmers who missed out opportunities to avail the schemes despite being eligible can now approach Rythu Bharosa Kendras to get the lapses rectified (if any). A 1 week special drive was taken up to ensure those who missed the opportunity to avail different schemes do so based on their eligibility.
