[Apply] Bihar Mukhyamantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojana for Migrant Workers in Other States

Bihar government had launched Mukhyamantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojana earlier on 6 April 2020. Under this Corona Sahayata scheme, the state govt. provided financial assistance to lakhs of migrant workers stuck outside in other states due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) lockdown. Bihar govt. had invited online registration / application form from migrant workers for this scheme through aapda.bih.nic.in. People were even able to apply online for CM Vishesh Sahayata Yojana through Bihar Corona Tatkal Sahayata App or aapda.bih.nic.in.

Each Bihari who was stranded in other states like UP, MP, Bihar, Delhi etc. are eligible. CM Nitish Kumar had transferred a sum of Rs. 10.35 crore on 6 April 2020 under Bihar Mukhyamantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojana. The amount of Rs. 1,000 each was transferred directly into the bank accounts of more than 1.03 lakh migrant workers.

The assistance amount of Rs. 1k each was given to each beneficiary from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). The online applications for Mukhyamantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojana were invited and people were able to apply online through app or disaster management website.

Eligibility / Documents for Bihar Mukhyamantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojana

CM Vishesh Sahayata Yojana was benefit those construction workers and needy persons who are stuck outside the state and are unable to reach their home due to COVID-19 lockdown. Applicants had to check the eligibility criteria as well as documents list before making Bihar Corona Tatkal Sahayata App Registration for CM Vishesh Sahayata Yojana:-

Eligibility
— Applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
— He / She must be stuck outside the state of Bihar due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.
— Applicant must possess a bank account in any of the bank located in Bihar.

Documents
— Copy of Aadhaar Card
— Bank account in the name of the applicant

It is important to note that photograph (selfie) uploaded by the applicants at the mobile app shall match with the photo in the Aadhar card, so both photos must be clear. Only one registration was allowed for a single Aadhar card number. Applicants had to enter OTP sent on the registered mobile no. in the Bihar Corona Tatkaal Sahayata Mobile app. The amount of CM Vishesh Sahayata Yojana was transferred into the bank accounts of the applicants through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

Bihar CM Vishesh Sahayata Yojana Implementation & Progress

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on 6 April 2020 launched Mukhyamantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojana by clicking mouse of computer at CM Residence in Patna.

Implementation
Within minutes of clicking of mouse by CM, an amount of Rs. 1,000 per migrant worker was transferred in bank accounts of total 1,03,579 workers through DBT mode. Accordingly, a total sum of Rs. 10,35,79,000 was transferred on 6th April.

Progress
Till 10 April 2020, over 3.10 lakh migrant workers had applied for Rs. 1,000 assistance either through link on disaster management website or Corona Tatkal Sahayata App. In just 3 days after uploading of link on 3rd April on website / app, around 2.91 lakh migrant labourers applied online.

A maximum of 55,264 applications comes from Delhi state followed by 41,050 from Haryana, 30,576 from Maharashtra and 25,638 from Gujarat. Minimum 8 applications were received from Lakshadweep union territory. Out of total 1.03 lakh workers who received assistance, max. 7281 are originally from Saran district followed by 6,821 from Muzzafarpur and 6,792 from Madhubani. Minimum 469 beneficiaries belong to Arwal district.
