Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approves to increase the scope of Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) 2021. Central government will now contribute the Employer’s full admissible contribution for first 3 years from registration date of new employee. All the employees who joined on or after 1st April 2016 and possess new Universal Account Number (UAN) can apply. The salary of the employees must be less than Rs. 15000 per month. PMRPY Scheme also has a direct benefit that all such workers can access social security benefits of organized sector.
PMRPY has added around 31 lakh beneficiaries to formal employment which involves an expenditure of more than Rs. 500 crore. For apparel, textile and garment sector govt. will now pay full 12% contribution which will get extended for all in the upcoming years. This move will create 1 crore more jobs in unorganized sector.
Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) Apply Process
The complete procedure to avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana is as follows:-
1st Step – All the establishments registered with EPFO under EPF Act 1952 can apply to avail the PMRPY Benefits. For EPFO Registration Online – Click here
2nd Step – Establishment should have a valid Labour Identification Number (LIN) under Shram Suvidha Portal. In case LIN is not known, visit official Shram Suvidha Portal or directly click Know Your LIN
3rd Step – All the Employees must possess a valid Aadhaar linked UAN and monthly salary must be less than Rs. 15,000 p.m. Employees can click UAN Services or UAN Member Interface
4th Step – All the textile sector Establishments having NIC Code 1410 and 1430 can avail benefits. For Textile / Garments Sector, govt. will bear 8.33% EPS + 3.67% EPF Contribution for new employment.

Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana – PMRPY Guidelines
Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) is the scheme to generate new employment opportunities by incentivizing employers. PM Rojgar Protsahan Yojana has dual benefits, on the one hand, employers are incentivized to increase employment base of workers in establishment while on the other hand, a large number of workers will have access to social security benefits of organized sector.
The entire system is now online and aadhaar based with no human interface in the implementation of PM Rozgar Protsahan Yojana. PMRPY scheme offers a direct benefit to workers while providing access to social security benefit through PF, pension and death linked insurance.
PMRPY Scheme was launched in August 2016 where central govt. pays 8.33% contribution of Employers to Employees Pension Scheme (EPS). This scheme creates employment in the informal sector and also provide incentive to employers. People can also see PMRPY Manual / User manual. PM Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) Beneficiaries Now 1 Cr Employees (Earlier Update)
Central government on 17 January 2019 announced that the number of employees benefiting from Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) reaches 10 million mark. PM Rozgar Protsahan Yojana was announced on 7 August 2016 and is being implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Employment through the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Labour Ministry claims that 1 crore people joined EPFO via PMRPY.
PMRPY Plan Scheme is specifically designed to incentivize employers generation of new employment opportunities. In this Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana, govt. of India pays full employer’s contribution of 12% towards EPF and EPS both with effect from 1 April 2018. This is done for a period of 3 years in respect of new employees who have been registered with EPFO or on after 1 April 2016 with salary upto Rs. 15,000 per month. Previously, this benefit was applicable only for employer’s contribution towards EPS only for new employment.
PMRPY is the flagship scheme of the central govt. for employment generation and has now crossed the milestone of 1 crore beneficiaries on 14 January 2019. During FY 2016-17 there were 33,031 beneficiaries, for 2017-18 there were 30,27,612 beneficiaries and for 2018-19 there were 69,49,436 beneficiaries (all data upto 15 January 2019) enrolled with EPFO under PMRPY. The total number of establishments which have been benefited during the implementation of PMRPY Scheme is 1.24 lakh. The last date for beneficiary registration through establishment under PMRPY Scheme is 31 March 2019.
