Andhra Pradesh government led by CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is implementing AP YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme 2021 for fishermen community. The state govt. had earlier launched AP YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Yojana on 21 November 2019. Now the AP govt. has started disbursement of Rs. 10,000 to fishermen. In this scheme, govt. provides financial assistance to fishermen operating mechanised, motorised and non-motorised fishing nets.
AP YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme Installment Transfers
In this scheme, govt. provides financial assistance to fishing families who lose their livelihood during the ban on fishing. The state government has increased the allowance from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 10,000 as promised during the elections.
YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme 3rd Installment Transfer
Andhra Pradesh govt. headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has implemented the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme for the third consecutive year. On 18 May 2021, CM YS Jagan disbursed the amount virtually at his camp office in Tadepalli and into the beneficiaries bank accounts. Under this scheme, 1,19,875 families will get a benefit of Rs. 119.87 crore at the rate of Rs. 10,000 at a satisfactory level (excluding any eligible person).
In the last two years, fishermen have been benefitted with Rs 211.71 crore and this year with Rs. 119.87 crore accumulating it to Rs. 331.58 crore (211.71 cr + 119.87 cr) in three years along with another.
YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme 2nd Installment Transfer
In the year 2020, around 1,09,231 families received assistance of Rs 109.23 crore. For two years, the government has been providing regular allowances to fishing families during the ban on fishing. In the last two years, fishermen have been benefitted with Rs 211.71 crore (102.48 cr + 109.23 cr).
YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme 1st Installment Transfer
In the year 2019, around 1,02,478 families received a benefit of Rs. 102.48 crore under AP YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme.
CM YS Jagan mentioned that the previous governments did not help the fishermen and the YSRCP government is providing Rs. 10 lakh accidental insurance to the fisherman who dies in an accident while fishing.

Benefits of Matsyakara Bharosa Yojana
The important features and highlights of this AP govt. scheme for fishermen namely Matsyakara Bharosa are as follows:-
- Increased assistance of Rs. 10,000 (previously Rs. 4,000) to fishermen amid COVID-19 lockdown.
- AP YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme beneficiaries to get increased diesel subsidy of Rs. 9 per litre which was Rs. 6.03 earlier. AP govt. has identified 81 filing stations for this purpose.
- Earlier, financial assistance was only given to those fishermen who uses mechanised and motorized boats. But the current dispensation would extend benefits to even those fishermen who uses hunting rafts.

Other Benefits for Fishermen in AP
AP govt. will setup Integrated aqua labs in 46 locations at Rs. 56.53 crore. These labs are going to test quality of water, sand, feed and seeds for the benefit of aquaculturists.
AP govt. has also allocated Rs. 720 crore to provide power to aqua farmers at cost of Rs. 1.5 per unit to benefit around 53,550 farmers. Other major decisions are to provide rights to fishermen on canals on lease at a nominal cost and provision of input subsidy.
