National Commission for Scheduled Castes of central government launches NCSC Grievance Management Portal at ncsc.negd.in. People belonging to SC category can now lodge complaints by making online complaint registration and check status at the official website. This feature has been launched on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. The online portal is likely to make it easier for an aggrieved person from Scheduled Castes to register his/her complaints from any part of the country.

A new NCSC Grievance Management Portal has been launched for online complaint registration. The portal is for lodging direct complaints on the commission website with a facility for audio, video or messaging. The NCSC Grievance Management Portal will provide speedy and transparent justice to all the scheduled class complainants. As per the NCSC chairperson: “About 67,000 complaints are pending with the commission. Punjab State SC Commission also has about 5,000 complaints pending due to the shortage of staff. STEP 1: Firstly visit the official website for National Commission for Scheduled Castes at http://ncsc.nic.in/

STEP 2: At the homepage, click on the “Online Complaint Registration” link present on the left side of the website or directly click https://ncsc.negd.in/

STEP 3: In the new window, click at the “Lodge Complaint” tab present in the main menu as shown below or directly click https://ncsc.negd.in/Login.aspx:-

STEP 4: Then on the next page, the NCSC Grievance Management Portal Login page will appear as shown below:-

STEP 5: At this page, click at the “New User? Register” link or directly click at https://ncsc.negd.in/Registration.aspx to make NCSC Grievance Management Portal Registration form as shown below:-

STEP 6: Here applicants can make registration by entering their personal details such as name, father name, gender, mobile number, e-mail ID, aadhar no, password and then clicking at “Submit” button. Subsequently make login using e-mail ID / mobile number and password and then click at “Login” button.

After making login at ncsc.negd.nic.in portal, SC applicants can lodge their complaint online.

STEP 4: Here enter the complaint date, to date, state, district, complaint number, name of victim, mobile number, e-mail ID, current status and click at “Search” button.

About National Commission for Scheduled Castes

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes is an Indian constitutional body established with a view to provide safeguards against the exploitation of Scheduled Castes and Anglo Indian communities to promote and protect their social, educational, economic and cultural interests, special provisions were made in the Constitution. Article 338 of the Indian constitution deals with National Commission for Scheduled Castes.

Duties & Functions of NCSC

According to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes website, the duties and functions of the Commission as per the Constitution of India under Article 338 is to:

A. To investigate and monitor all matters relating to the safeguards provided for the Scheduled Castes under the Constitution or under any other law for the time being in force or under any order of the Government and to evaluate the working of such safeguards

B. To inquire into specific complaints with respect to the deprivation of rights and safeguards of the Scheduled Castes.
