WB Kharif Paddy Procurement Scheme 2021 has been rolled out by the West Bengal government. Rice Mill Registration Form is available at the official website at procurement.wbfood.in. The state govt. plans to roll out scheme to procure Kharif paddy for its public distribution system (PDS). It is because the govt. seeks to maintain unhindered supply of free rice to around 10 crore people till June 2021.

In the WB Kharif Paddy Procurement Scheme 2021, the state govt. aims to enrol over 30 lakh farmers. Approx. 13 lakh of an estimated 72 lakh paddy farmers in West Bengal have registered themselves for the Karif Paddy Procurement Scheme so far. The WB state govt. is planning to reach out to as many farmers as possible.

Here enter the rice mill description, district, name, address, mobile number, OTP, e-mail ID, verification code and click at the “Submit” button to complete the rice mill registration process for WB Kharif Paddy Procurement Scheme.
Need for Kharif Paddy Procurement Scheme
There is a super harvest of paddy in this Kharif season and low demand have hit paddy prices. The prices of Paddy in this season have fallen below the government announced minimum support price (MSP). The West Bengal govt. is planning to impose a ceiling on the amount of paddy to be procured from each farmer. This will help us enrol more and more farmers under this WB Kharif Paddy Procurement Scheme 2021.

Procurement of Paddy by West Bengal Government
The state government of West Bengal is planning to procure around 45 quintals of paddy from each farmer. In the FY 2019, the maximum procurement of paddy went up to 90 quintals for every farmer at an MSP of Rs. 1,868 per quintal. The price of paddy this time, is yet to be fixed. It will be done keeping in mind the interest of the farmers.
The state also has plans to set up a special surveillance system to ensure that the enrolled farmers sell their harvest to the government and not to hoarders.

The Government is planning to impose a ceiling on the amount of paddy to be procured from each farmer. This will help us enroll more and more farmers under this scheme.
Major Benefits to Paddy Beneficiaries
The government will also purchase about 45 quintals of paddy from each farmer.The maximum procurement was 90 quintals at an MSP of Rs 1,868 per quintal last year; the maximum procurement at MSP this year will be 45 quintals. Paddy prices in the market are way below the MSP, hovering around Rs 1,200-Rs 1,300 a quintal.
Key Features of Scheme
The government will be providing free rice to approximately 10 crore people in the West Bengal State till the month of June 2021. The government will start procuring the rest of 22 lakh tonne from the first week of May and that will shortly ease pressures from the market. The state announced procuring 52 lakh tonne of paddy this year out of which 30 lakh tonne has already been procured.
Under the West Bengal Kharif paddy procurement scheme, around 13 lakh farmers are enrolled by the concerned organization. Around 7200000 paddy farmers will be registered in the WB Kharif paddy procurement scheme. The state also has plans to set up a special surveillance system to ensure that the enrolled farmers sell their harvest to the government and not to hoarders.
