New Punjab SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2021 for Scheduled Caste Students

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has announced to start a new Punjab SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2021 for Scheduled Caste students. CM has alleged that the central govt. has backstabbed SC students as it has ended post matric scholarship scheme for SC students. The new scheme will provide an opportunity to students from weaker sections to pursue higher learning in various streams which SC students have been deprived of due to withdrawal of scholarship scheme by the Centre.

The Punjab state govt. was in the process of recasting SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to ensure that no SC student is deprived of higher education. CM also reiterated his govt’s resolve to recruit 1 lakh youth in government jobs over next 1 and half year. Out of these, around 50,000 will be recruited till March 2021 and another 50,000 by end of its term.

CM has made this announcement while addressing a virtual programme on the culmination of the 6th State Level Mega Rozgar Mela from Patiala along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Punjab SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2021

Punjab government has announced to start SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2021 soon. The new apply online process for Post Matric Scholarship for scheduled caste students along with the notification and guidelines to be released soon. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled Caste students studying at post matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. This SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is available for studies in India and would be awarded by the Punjab government. The state govt. will transfer the amount directly into the bank accounts of the SC category students through direct benefit transfer (DBT) mode.

Value of SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme Punjab

The value of SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme Punjab will includes the following for complete duration of the course:-

• Maintenance allowance,
• Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees,
• Study tour charges,
• Thesis typing/prinbng charges for Research Scholars,
• Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses,
• Book bank facility for specified courses, and
• Additional allowance for students with disabilities.

Official Launch of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students in Punjab

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Punjab has tweeted on their official twitter handler about the official launch of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students in Punjab. CM tweeted that “Punjab Govt to soon launch SC Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme in place of Centre’s old scheme, announces Chief Minister. Capt Amarinder Singh at culmination of 6th Mega Rozgar Mela, lauds state govt’s unique initiative to build youth asset.

Jobs to Youth in Punjab by CM Amarinder Singh Govt

In the past 3 and half years, govt. has successfully created job opportunities for 13.42 lakh youth. This had been made possible through placement and self-employment assistance. Out of these, around 50,000 govt. and 4.12 lakh private jobs have been provided to the youth besides providing 8.80 lakh youths in taking up self employment ventures. CM even informed that eminent multinational corporates like Microsoft, and other private companies of India, including Trident, Guru Gobind Singh Refinery (HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd.), Bathinda, had played a pivotal role in offering remunerative jobs to Punjab’s youth.

The leadership of CM Amarinder Singh is facilitating gainful employment for youths through the scheme. It is the duty of the state govt. to provide job opportunities for youngsters and the govt. is doing the same. Youths are the assets of the economy and employment opportunities can transform their destinies and lead to nation’s development.

Punjab is a front-runner state with a hardworking, peaceful and resilient workforce committed to upholding the basic values of humanity. Punjab had once led the country in the SME (small and medium enterprise) sector, despite being a predominantly agrarian economy. Punjab govt. even continues to nurture its cottage small and micro industrial units which has an enormous potential to grow and result in job creation.
